Zone Diet


Zone diet is a way to reset the body's metabolic system by following the ancestral diet. The formula  is 40-30-30; namely 40% carbohydrate, 30% protein, and 30% fat. The problem of excess weight is always to be discussed by health experts. The proof is, curently so many types of diets which offer the weight loss in a short time. One of them is the zone diet.

The diet zone was first introduced by an American biochemist, Barry Sears, Ph.D ,. Barry argues that by diligently applying a zone diet, you can lose weight at least 1-3 kg a week. Barry stressed that the figure was fantastic because the weight that was reduced purely was fat weight, not water weight or muscle mass. Fat burning results from this diet will continue, even when you are asleep. This is because the main function of the zone diet is to improve the body's metabolic system. Since its introduction to the wider community, there have been many foreign artists who have revealed that this diet could be the dietary answer sought so far. Just name a few famous names, such as Jennifer Aniston, Madonna, and Demi Moore.

For sources of carbohydrates, this diet emphasizes the consumption of foods that are low in sugar and minimal process. What is meant by minimal process is food that does not go through the frying, baking, etc. So, if you really want to try this diet, then it's good to avoid sources of refined carbohydrates such as bread, pasta, and noodles. Instead, you are encouraged to increase consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables.

So what about protein? In the zone diet, the type of protein that can be consumed is a high-protein but low-fat food, such as skinless chicken breast, salmon, and some types of beans. Furthermore, to meet daily fat requirements, you are advised to consume food sources of unsaturated fats such as olive oil or almonds. Besides paying attention to the ratio and type of food consumed, you are also required to pay attention to meal times. Yes, during the zone diet program, you are encouraged to have breakfast at least 1 hour after waking up, eat with a span of 5 hours, and consume healthy snacks (such as salads or fruit pieces) before going to bed.

Diet zones are indeed worth trying. However, it should be noted that many individuals who fail to run this diet program because of the strict rules of eating ratio. In addition, the suggestion to avoid using excess salt is also often a barrier for those who want to try the zone diet.
